Prediabetes: A Turning Point, Not a Destination
تیم سلامت یار · Reviewed by: تیم سلامت یار · 5 min read

Prediabetes means your blood sugar is higher than normal but not yet in the diabetes range — a fasting glucose of 100–125 mg/dL. The important news: prediabetes is not a one-way road to diabetes.
Studies show that relatively small lifestyle changes can bring blood sugar back to normal for many people, or at least delay progression to type 2 diabetes for years.
- Eat smarter: less sugar and sugary drinks, more fiber (vegetables, legumes, whole grains).
- Move daily: at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week — brisk walking counts.
- Lose weight gradually: even 5–7% of body weight can meaningfully improve insulin sensitivity.
- Track regularly: repeat fasting glucose checks every few months to follow the trend with your doctor.
Symptoms like excessive thirst, frequent urination, unexplained weight loss, or blurred vision can signal more advanced diabetes and need prompt follow-up.
